BigLever CEO Addresses How Convergence of Product Line Engineering and Operations Transforms Auto Manufacturing at Smart Automotive Variant.con 2014

Presentation Spotlights Innovative Approaches for Achieving Whole Factor Improvements in Time-to-Market, Production Efficiency, Product Line Portfolio Scalability, and Quality

AUSTIN, Texas – November 18, 2014 – BigLever Software, the leading provider of Systems and Software Product Line Engineering (PLE) solutions, today announced that the company's founder and CEO, Dr. Charles Krueger will be presenting "Product Line Engineering Meets Product Line Operations" at Smart Automotive Variant.con 2014. The session will spotlight how the convergence of PLE and Operations (PLE&O) enables a unified approach for managing product line variation and complexity across the full lifecycle, providing significant business benefits. The presentation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 20, 12:00 pm at the Kempinski Hotel Bristol in Berlin, Germany.

"Today's automotive manufacturers are under tremendous pressure to deliver ever-greater product line diversity with increasingly sophisticated software and electronics seamlessly integrated with an increasingly innovative array of mechanical parts – all while achieving economy of scale, reducing time-to-market, and improving quality," said Krueger. "One of the main challenges that companies face is that the disciplines, processes and tools that have traditionally supported different facets of the lifecycle are based on widely different methodologies and have been isolated from each other. In my presentation, I will discuss how some of the world's largest automakers are addressing all of these critical issues, breaking down organizational and operational silos, and dramatically reducing complexity through a holistic PLE&O approach."

PLE&O allows manufacturers to manage high levels of product line diversity by enabling interoperability and alignment among product marketing, portfolio planning, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, sales, service and maintenance.

Krueger is an acknowledged thought leader in the PLE field, with more than 25 years of experience in software engineering. He is responsible for more than 60 articles, columns, book chapters, conference keynotes and industry sessions. Through active involvement in key industry events and organizations, he brings innovative PLE concepts, new generation methodologies and success stories to the forefront of the systems and software engineering community.
