AUSTIN, Texas – December 13, 2021 – BigLever Software, the long-standing leader in Product Line Engineering (PLE), announced today that Randy Pitz, formerly of Boeing, has joined BigLever‘s executive team as the new Vice President of Customer Success. Pitz is a Boeing Technical Fellow and led a highly successful PLE initiative while there. He is replacing Dr. Paul Clements, who is retiring.
Pitz’s main focus as Vice President of Customer Success will be to oversee customer engagements and ensure a successful PLE transition. He will lead the onePLE Studio customer experience center where he will facilitate education, innovation and adoption of Feature-based PLE. Pitz will collaborate with business and technical teams, leveraging insight and experience in commercial practice to enable customers to apply the latest PLE approaches, overcome engineering complexities, and further expand their PLE strategies. His work with customers will include translating strategic objectives into optimized deployed plans, mentoring and training product line architects and engineers, and assisting customer organizations in establishing ongoing PLE practices.
While at Boeing, Pitz architected a desktop visualization and control station product line involving 13 products for military aviation training simulation systems for Boeing Global Services. Success with this led to an expansion of his role as a PLE champion for other simulation product lines. In support of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, he championed PLE solutions for DO-178C safety-certifiable products and DO-330 qualified tools. In Boeing Defense Systems, he led the adoption of PLE for the F/A-18 Mission Management software organization to eliminate complex parallel development and become more efficient. He also worked across Boeing to advocate for PLE through presentations, internal reviews, and internal standards development.
”It’s a privilege to work with BigLever and their world-class customers.” states Pitz. “BigLever’s thought leadership on PLE is second to none and I am looking forward to being part of a team that is moving PLE further into the mainstream.”
“The addition of Randy to our management team is a major step forward and upward for BigLever”, states BigLever CEO, Dr. Charles Krueger. “Randy’s experience and mastery of commercial PLE practice, plus his new perspectives for advancing PLE, will be invaluable to BigLever, its customers and the industry, particularly at this point in time when PLE is expanding into mainstream engineering practice.”
